A State Without Mexicans?
Award-winning writer Paul Reyes explores how Alabamians really feel about their state’s draconian immigration law, which makes Arizona’s look tame…and which which was upheld by a judge today.

Although I’m against all these discriminatory laws I’m glad that they happened, States such as Alabama (see above) have seen the negative effect that it’s doing to their state. Business are being lost since they can’t find ‘legal’ residents to do the back breaking work at $7.25 an hour. It’s apparent undocumented labor is needed and we are an asset, when will the rest of America realize this?

The odds of me being re-elected are much higher than the odds of me being elected in the first place.

President BARACK OBAMA.

Because nearly a million deportations weren’t enough…

…Republicans proposed a bill that would make it so that undocumented immigrant victims of domestic violence get deported.

The more I hear about stories like this the more I’m fueled to work with humanitarian movements. How are you going to allow for a woman to be beaten and hide in the shadows in fears of being deported? Are you kidding me? I don’t care how you feel about immigration you do not, ever, allow for a woman to hide when she is being abused. As I’ve heard before, I don’t care if you’re the love child of Voldermont and Paris Hilton, no woman deserves to be abused, let alone have the abuse continue because of deportation fears.

Can you imagine how many more women will hide? Do you know how many more will be abused? How many may in fact die at their abusers hands over years and years of abuse? Fuck no. -Ro

In the most recent Republican debate Rick Santorum was asked about immigration.  He said immigration is good for American but, “they need to come here like his grandfather.”
I assume he means they need to come here white.

nothing to see here.: Dream Act.

Bullshit. Why should illegal immigrant kids get special financial help simply for the fact that they are illegal immigrant kids? It’s the same as Affirmative Action. I shouldn’t get special help because I’m half black. That just says that you think that I am not capable of doing it on my own. It pisses me off that an illegal immigrant kid could get MY spot at UCSB, and not have to pay for it, or have to pay LESS for it. The taxpayers will pay for it. California, you get more stupid by the day. Please, people. Do it the right way. Or at least, pay for it on your own. Don’t push this because you’re Mexican or illegal. You wouldn’t want to pay for my college tuition, I don’t want to pay for yours.

And no offense, but it will be hard for you to get a job after anyways because you don’t have legitimate citizen status immediately. (Of course, until you go through the six year process. Two years is still a long time.)

Don’t act like other illegals haven’t done it without this bill.

Ok, So I was searching tags under DREAM Act and contacted this person privately regarding the false information she was spreading. I actually thought about this for several hours before deciding to repost what she posted along with MY comment and facts. I was hesitant to do so because it was posted on her blog but then I realized that it was necessary to stop the bullshit now, the real bullshit and by that I mean lies. I was also pushed a little over the edge by her post here, attempting to put me in my place. Nobody puts baby in the corner. Back to the facts. You’re wrong and here’s the break down:

Why should illegal immigrant kids get special financial help simply for the fact that they are illegal immigrant kids? It’s the same as Affirmative Action.

BULLSHIT, this is not ‘special’ financial help, this is the exact same assistance that is currently offered to Citizens. And what we’re getting isn’t the same so I’m wrong in even saying that. What we’re getting is the left over. Yep, so basically after everyone is done eating we get the crumbs, I’m sorry is that not enough for you? Would you like to fill your full face with even more pastries? Out of $1.8B allocated to citizens roughly $24M is left over, which once signed by Gov Brown we will be able to split amongst ourselves. When it comes down to it we may not even get $1,000 a year. It being that there are so many of us and so little to go around but we are grateful to even get anything in the first place.

It pisses me off that an illegal immigrant kid could get MY spot at UCSB, and not have to pay for it, or have to pay LESS for it. The taxpayers will pay for it.

Whoa, whoa. Why would we get YOUR spot? If you apply and some of the students applying are also undocumented immigrants and they’re well more qualified and are accepted and you’re not whose fault is it? Is it yours or is it theirs? Perhaps you should have studied a little harder. There isn’t a special spot for us at colleges waiting to be filled, quite the opposite. Not pay for it? Is Daddy Warbucks paying for my tuition? Because AB131 sure isn’t. If we get private scholarships, well, what’s wrong with that? If I’m wealthy one day and decide to offer scholarships to other immigrant children, isn’t that my right? Can’t I do what I want with MY money?

California, you get more stupid by the day. Please, people. Do it the right way. Or at least, pay for it on your own. Don’t push this because you’re Mexican or illegal. You wouldn’t want to pay for my college tuition, I don’t want to pay for yours.

You’re paying for my tuition? You’re 15. Do you even have a job? I do, Actually, I have two and I pay about $100 a week in taxes. So if anything I’m paying for YOUR tuition more so than mine.

And no offense, but it will be hard for you to get a job after anyways because you don’t have legitimate citizen status immediately. (Of course, until you go through the six year process. Two years is still a long time.)

Don’t act like other illegals haven’t done it without this bill.

What six year process are you pulling out of your ass? There is NO pathway for us hence why we need the DREAM Act to pass. Not just the California one but the federal one so we are on route to continue living our lives.

I’m 26 and I deserve to be here just as much as you do, and yes you are ignorant because you’re spreading lies. You are stubborn and don’t shut your mouth long enough to listen to the facts. Stop using the word ‘illegal’, because we are NOT that.  We are without status, we are undocumented and we are just as American as you are and most of us have contributed to this country more than you have. So get off your little pedestal, study harder and I am without doubt that if you work hard enough you will get into UCSB and if you’re significantly intelligent (which isn’t apparent) perhaps someone will give you scholarships to help you pay for your way through college.

I am NOT going to allow for false information to be spread any longer, it stops here. I will stand up for what’s right and always offer factual statements. Not ideas that I created in my mind just as you did.

Mature yourself and by that I mean read a newspaper, a reliable one with actual facts. Actually read several newspapers so you’re given different views and then make an intellectual educated decision.

Good day -Ro

Fox News, Fair and Insistent on Calling Undocumented Immigrants “Illegals” Balanced.

Beyond the obvious racism… What the hell does she mean? Because Villaraigosa supports immigration reform he’s known to give out free lunches to undocumented immigrants? I actually like my mayor, he probably would pick up the tab if you were like “My friend here is struggling to make it in America. They came with their family to make a better life, they can’t afford lunch today can you help?”

motherjones:

Texas Governor Rick Perry’s 2010 book Fed Up! has some pretty radical ideas: He calls Social Security unconstitutional, suggests the 16th and 17th Amendments should be repealed, and that states should be allowed to ban gay people from having sex. But he didn’t pull these ideas out of thin air; Perry’s controversial views on federalism and the nation’s Judeo-Christian roots come straight from the pages of one of his favorite books: The Five Thousand Years Leap, by W. Cleon Skousen. Here’s what else is on Rick Perry’s reading list, and why you should care.
